Ian Woods, double Olympian, Team GB Coach and Director of Onesimus has been instrumental in helping Scottish based Global SCS achieve notable success in the development of their business.
Global SCS a leading provider of Quality Management & Procurement Services and part of the highly successful Global Energy Group, has scooped three prestigious awards – Gold in Investors in People, Investors in Young People, and Health & Wellbeing.
They are the only oil related company in Aberdeen to hold all 3 awards. To mark the occasion, the Scottish Energy Minister, Fergus Ewing, MSP will make the presentation on Monday 7th September. Mr Peter Russian, CEO of Investors in People Scotland will also be in attendance.
Ian has worked with Global SCS over the last eight years. Having previously competed in two Olympic Games and coached other athletes and teams at Olympic level, Ian draws heavily on the wealth of experience from competing at the highest level in sport.
“The principles of performance, motivation and success are more or less
the same in business as they are in sport. It’s always about people; the way we think and the way we support each other. I’ve just carried those principles I learned from the world of sport and adapted them for the world of work”.
Onesimus helps companies define what really matter to them and supports their leadership teams cope with the complexity of change. Global SCS committed to their people and were determined to become ‘People Pioneers’. This means supporting, developing and inspiring their people to succeed both personally and professionally. Sometimes that means challenging the status quo and cultural assumptions, but the payback in terms of long-term investment in people is huge.
Congratulations to Global SCS who will be accepting this award, appropriately during Offshore Europe Week.
As well as helping external businesses, Ian work closely with managers and team members at English Lakes to assist with training and development.
