This year’s Vintage By the Sea Festival is set to bigger than ever this year with three military crafts set take to the skies over Morecambe promenade.
The seaside festival has confirmed a WWII RAF fly past of a Lancaster Bomber, Hurricane and a Spitfire on Saturday 5th September 2015 at 2pm.
Crowds will also have a chance to get up close and personal with a Mark IX Spitfire when it will be on display outside The Midland Hotel and Stone Jetty.
A team wearing RAF uniform will also give talks to visitors against the backdrop of the Spitfire about the role the aircraft played during the second World War. Visitors will also get to have their photo taken inside the Spitfire’s cockpit which will be available across the weekend on 5th and 6th September 2015 between 10am-5pm.
More than 40,000 people attended last year’s Vintage By the Sea festival, which transforms Morecambe’s seafront into a celebration of music, fashion, film, art, design and dance from the 1920s to the 1990s.

The festival was featured as one of the best vintage events in the world in 2014 by The Guardian and has also won a Lancashire Tourism Award and VisitEngland Award.
Originally created by The Midland in 2013, it is produced by Hemingway Design, Deco Publique and in conjunction with Lancaster City Council. It is also supported by Morecambe Town Council and The Midland Hotel, Morecambe.
