Calling all junior travellers, Charlie and Alfie our new children’s hotel inspectors are planning trips and adventures around Lancashire and the Lake District over the coming months. They will be reviewing all things English Lakes Hotels and checking out many of the local attractions and experiences. First on the list…
Lancaster House
Our first stop is Lancaster House, and as we came up to the front of the building, we couldn’t believe how cool it looked. After our friendly welcome we raced to see our room and check out the swimming pool and the Sam’s Club activities available.

The Bedroom
Our luxury room was amazing, with a huge bath, two televisions and best of all presents from Sam the Dog! Alfie was so impressed with our elephant towels, and the activity books which he loved colouring with the pencils we received from Sam.
The Leisure Club
We then decided it was time to explore, so we checked out the Sandpiper Leisure Club swimming pool. We had so much fun splashing around and we even dared to have a look at the outdoor hot tub!
Children’s Dining
After an afternoon of exercise, we decided to eat as we had heard that the children’s menu was fantastic. We were not disappointed, in fact we were spoilt for choice. Eventually Alfie chose Sam’s secret treasure chest, a delicious French bread pizza and I decided on a traditional favourite, Sams Seaside Supper, battered fish with chips, garden peas and bread & butter. YUMMY! This was only beaten by the arrival of two sticky toffee puddings, and ice-cream, which left two very full belly’s and two very clean plates!
Children’s Activities
Later on our way back to our room, we noticed a special Easter Sam’s activity room so we decided to take a peek. We had loads of fun colouring, making, and of course playing on our favourite past time the Wii.
Breakfast for Children
In the morning, we quickly got ready and went for a feast of a breakfast, topping up on juices, fruit, cereals and delicious hot food from a massive buffet, before checking out, completing our children’s comment card.
Lancaster attractions
We then make our way into the City of Lancaster. There we went to the kids film club at the Vue Cinema, and finished off this part of the journey with a trip to Williamsons park for fresh air, fun and a pirates adventure playground.

Our Verdict
We highly recommend a trip to Lancaster House to any of you Sam’s Kids out there who want to get ideas of a great place to stay. We had a fantastic time, the people were awesome and there was so much to do in the hotel and the area. We are definitely going to return soon. 10 out of 10! Learn more about Sams Club
