Max’s Dog Holiday – The Midland

English Lakes is proud of its pets welcome policy and guests have been bringing their pets to our hotels in the Lake District and Lancashire for many years. We welcome back our special four legged blogger, Max, who has been to the seaside and just couldn’t wait to tell us about his visit to The Midland, Morecambe.

Pets Welcome at The Midland Morecambe

I was so excited when I found out that my next holiday would be at the seaside! I do so love the beach, and it’s even better when I get to stay in a lovely hotel. When we arrived at The Midland, Poppy on reception gave us a very warm welcome, and then we made our way all the way up the staircase to the top floor. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw where we were going to sleep! I had my own special bed which Tracy had put in for me, and there was lots of room to stretch my legs, especially on the balcony which was huge!

After we had settled in, Poppy had suggested a nice walk along the promenade to Heysham village, which is very puppy friendly and has lots of places to eat and drink where I am welcome too!

When we got back to the hotel, I had a nap in the room while the grown ups went for dinner in the Sun Terrace restaurant, and by the time they had finished I was allowed in the Rotunda bar with them where we sat in one of the booths and Katie brought me a water bowl so I wouldn’t feel left out of cocktail time!

Guests with dogs

Later in the evening we went to sit in the lobby to listen to the man playing the piano and I was honoured to meet the famous Alex! Alex is Pauleen’s guide dog, who is a very regular guest at the Midland, and who knows the hotel inside out!

Alex told me that the staff always look after him very well and he always has a very relaxing time and comes away feeling pampered. After that it was definitely time for bed, and I drifted off to the sound of the waves right outside the windows…

Dog walks in Morecambe

The next morning I was raring to go, the sun was shining and I could see all the way across to the Lake District from the balcony!

It was time for my favourite part of the day….morning walkies!!

Early morning run around!

The Midland is doggy heaven as it is right on the beach, and I could run and run and splish splash in the sea, such fun!! I was very sad to leave The Midland, I am so getting used to these luxury hotels the grown ups are taking me to. The hotels are so nice sometimes I am surprised that they allow pooches like me to stay, but they are always so welcoming! I wonder where we will visit next?
