The Wild Boar Inn, Grill & Smokehouse is set in the ancient beauty of the Gilpin Valley, with 72 acres of private woodland and a beautiful tarn. A very special and traditional Lake District Inn which has a long earned reputation for classic British cuisine.
The Wild Boar has taken local provenance to a new level with its own onsite Smokehouse and microbrewery – The Brewhouse. As well as its own real ales, The Wild Boar has created a Whisky Club following and has over 100 of the best international malt whiskies.

Smoky Jo and Georgina who run our Smoking courses, will be on hand to guide you through the stages of smoking food and you can sample the amazing produce from our onsite smokehouse including wild boar sausage, salmon, steaks, cheese and a few surprises!
The brewhouse will be open with the master brewer Tim Bloomer, from Fell Brewery, on hand to talk you through the art of making real ale and taste our home brewed ales including Mad Pig, Smoked Porter and Hog’s Head 54!
Smoked themed lunch menus will have a wonderful array of exciting dishes and will be served with Brewhouse beer bats from 12pm – 2pm and in the evening our Smoked taster menu will be a very special feast.
Whisky tasting will commence after dinner with Jamie Milne the UK Ambassador for Glenfiddich Whisky will be showcasing the best whiskies from this famous distillery.
PLUS in our private woods… Clay pigeon shooting, a family fun cuddly Wild Boar hunt, Swedish candle and Charcoal making demonstrations!

A pre dinner drinks reception will be held at 6.30pm.
