Waterhead will become the first Lake District Hotel to give its guests the opportunity to personalise their rooms. The hotel will give people a choice of ten different categories, including the paintings, teapots, sweets, pillows and even aromas.
With thousands of different combinations to choose from guests will be able to give their room a personal touch.
Mark Needham, the general manager at the Waterhead, says: “We want to give our guests the opportunity to make their room their own. The pictures on the walls are obviously a major factor in the feel of the room, so we are giving people a choice of paintings by five different North West based artists.
“Most hotel rooms have a fairly standard white set of cups and saucers and a white teapot but our guests will be able to make a choice from a range that will include a novelty teapot in the shape of a bath complete with yellow duck, one with Union Jack flags and another with sheep.
“Some people find it difficult to sleep on different pillows when they go away, so we are providing a choice of different pillows to help people get the best possible night’s sleep.
“We also want to hear from people what other elements of the rooms they would like to see personalised so we can make further changes in future.”
The paintings are all being loaned by the Blandford Fine Art Gallery in Milnthorpe and include highly rated artists like Michael John Ashcroft, Geoffrey Key and Stephanie Dingle.
Those with a sweet tooth will appreciate the choice of traditional sweets with mint humbugs, Lion brand midget gems, jelly beans and Jargonelle pear drops.
Guests can also make a choice of colours and aromas by picking from a range of different flowers and scented candles for their room, a choice of fruit bowls, arrival drinks and toiletries.
Each room will also include a digital picture frame. Guests will be able to send up to five photos to the hotel, so when they arrive they’ll be able to see pictures of their loved ones beside their bed.
There will initially be five luxury rooms to personalise, which are available for £275 a night bed and breakfast and £330 a night dinner, bed and breakfast.
We want people to tell us what other elements of the rooms they would like to see personalised by going onto our Facebook page or following @EnglishLakes on Twitter. We are also offering a one night break in a personalised room for one lucky winner who helps decide another addition for the individual rooms on their facebook page by 30th June which we will introduce into the rooms.
