On 9th July 2009, English Lakes hosted a successful Afternoon Tea at the Midland Hotel in Morecambe to celebrate the recent addition of the Midland to the English Lakes family of hotels.
Representatives from the local business community, suppliers, staff members and friends of English Lakes Hotels enjoyed the magnificent views over Morecambe Bay on one of the sunniest days of the year. After a glass of fizz, afternoon tea was served including a fine array of sandwiches, scones and cakes.
The Midland Hotel is poised to once again take its place as the jewel in the crown of the North West’s coastline. Over the last few months we have been working tirelessly to ensure that the standards and service offered at the hotel are in-line with the quality we have been associated with over the last 50+ years.
We are delighted to announce that Matt Stanaway, who has over 17 years experience in the hotel and hospitality industry, will become General Manager of the Midland Hotel from 28th September. Within ELH, Matt has already enjoyed two years as Operations Manager of Lancaster House Hotel prior to managing the Waterhead Hotel in Ambleside for a further two year period. Matt says: “I’m really excited about the challenge of ensuring that the Midland Hotel provides guests with the service and standards that its heritage and history deserves. “As the new manager of the hotel, I hope to provide a high quality product and service to all our guests which Morecambe, and those who have dedicated time and money to the project can be justifiably proud.”
